Ingredients

1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 teaspoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 medium onion, thinly sliced

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 yellow bell pepper, sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon ginger, minced

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon sesame oil

Cooked rice, for serving

Chopped green onions and sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

Marinate the Steak: In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Prepare the Vegetables: While the steak is marinating, slice the onion and bell peppers. Mince the garlic and ginger, and set everything aside.

Cook the Steak: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the marinated steak in a single layer and sear for about 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the steak from the skillet and set it aside.

Stir-Fry the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the sliced onion, bell peppers, garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for about 4-5 minutes or until the vegetables are just tender but still crisp.

Combine and Season: Return the cooked steak to the skillet with the vegetables. Sprinkle with black pepper and drizzle with sesame oil. Toss everything together and cook for an additional 2 minutes to blend the flavors.

Serve: Spoon the pepper steak mixture over cooked rice. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds for a pop of color and crunch. Serve hot and enjoy!
