Ingredients

4 ripe peaches, pitted and cut in half

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar, divided

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/4 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 cup peach preserves

1 cup water

Instructions

Prepare the Peaches: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a baking dish, place the peach halves cut side up. Spoon peach preserves into the centers of each peach half and set aside.

Make the Dough: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, 1/4 cup of sugar, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined and a dough forms.

Form the Dumplings: Using slightly floured hands, pinch off portions of dough and flatten each piece. Wrap the flattened dough around each peach half, ensuring the peach is entirely encased.

Create the Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine the remaining 1/4 cup sugar, water, and cinnamon. Bring to a gentle simmer and stir until the sugar is dissolved.

Assemble and Bake: Pour the cinnamon syrup over the wrapped peach dumplings in the baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the dumplings are golden brown and cooked through.

Serve: Allow the dumplings to cool slightly before serving warm. Drizzle with extra syrup from the baking dish for added flavor and enjoy!
