Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

1 cup fresh raspberries (or frozen, thawed and drained)

1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Add Eggs and Extracts: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla and (if using) almond extract until combined.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the creamed butter mixture, mixing until just combined.

Fold in Chocolate Chips and Raspberries: Gently fold in the chocolate chips, being careful not to overmix, then add the raspberries, folding them into the dough delicately to avoid breaking them apart.

Scoop the Dough: Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop rounds of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown around the edges and set in the center.

Cool: Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Serve and Enjoy: Enjoy these delightful cookies warm or at room temperature, and consider pairing them with a glass of milk for a classic treat!
