3 cups Rice Krispies cereal

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup chocolate chips

1/2 cup mini marshmallows (optional)

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

    Combine Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and Rice Krispies cereal. Set aside.

      Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, use a hand mixer or stand mixer to cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).

        Add Egg and Vanilla: Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture; mix until well combined.

          Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredient mixture. Mix just until combined; avoid overmixing.

            Fold in Chocolate Chips and Marshmallows: Gently fold in the chocolate chips and mini marshmallows with a spatula until evenly dispersed throughout the dough.

              Scoop and Shape: Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Flatten each ball slightly with the palm of your hand.

                Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may look slightly underbaked, but they will firm up as they cool.
