4 salmon fillets (6 oz each), skin-on

Salt and black pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

Zest of 1 lemon

Juice of 1 lemon

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions
 

Prep the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and black pepper.

    Sear the Salmon: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the salmon fillets skin-side down. Cook for about 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy. Gently flip the fillets and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Remove the salmon from the skillet and set aside on a plate.

      Make the Garlic Lemon Butter Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add the butter and let it melt. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

        Add Lemon: Stir in the lemon zest and juice, and allow the sauce to simmer for another minute, mixing well to combine all the flavors.

          Combine: Return the salmon fillets to the skillet, spooning the garlic lemon butter sauce over them generously to coat.

            Serve: For the finishing touch, garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for additional zest.
