At the heart of Smoky Honey Garlic Grilled Chicken are its key ingredients, each contributing to the overall harmony of the dish. Honey serves as a natural sweetener that not only enhances the flavor but also caramelizes beautifully on the grill, giving the chicken a gorgeous, golden-brown finish. Complementing this sweetness is smoked paprika, which imparts a rich, smoky flavor that mimics the essence of traditional barbecuing, all without the need for a smoker. The aromatic punch of garlic adds depth and complexity, while soy sauce brings an umami richness and moisture that elevates the chicken’s taste and texture.

Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon olive oil

Juice of 1 lemon

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Lemon wedges for serving (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, smoked paprika, black pepper, salt, olive oil, and lemon juice until well combined.

Marinate the Chicken: Place the chicken breasts in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring each piece is thoroughly coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.

Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F to 400°F). Brush the grill grates with oil to prevent sticking.

Grill the Chicken: Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Discard the leftover marinade. Place the chicken on the hot grill. Cook for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F and the chicken is nicely charred and cooked through.

Rest and Garnish: Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes to lock in the juices. If desired, garnish with fresh parsley.

Serve: Slice the chicken and serve with lemon wedges on the side. Enjoy with your favorite sides like grilled vegetables or a fresh salad!
