Ingredients

2 lbs chicken drumsticks

1/2 cup bourbon whiskey

1/2 cup ketchup

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp Dijon mustard

1 tbsp garlic powder

1 tbsp onion powder

1 tsp smoked paprika

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

Fresh chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Drumsticks: In a large bowl, combine the bourbon, ketchup, honey, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper (if using). Whisk until well mixed. Add the chicken drumsticks, making sure they are thoroughly coated in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.

Preheat the Grill: Prepare your grill for medium-high heat, about 350°F (175°C). If using charcoal, make sure the coals are hot and covered in white ash. If using a gas grill, turn on to the appropriate temperature.

Prepare for Grilling: Remove the drumsticks from the marinade and let them come to room temperature for about 15-20 minutes. Reserve the marinade for basting.

Grill the Drumsticks: Place the drumsticks on the preheated grill. Cook for about 20-25 minutes, turning every 5-7 minutes to ensure even grilling.

Baste for Extra Flavor: During the last 5-10 minutes of grilling, brush the drumsticks with the reserved marinade to create a sticky glaze. Make sure to turn them often to avoid burning.

Check for Doneness: The chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C). If needed, continue grilling until they are fully cooked.

Rest Before Serving: Remove the drumsticks from the grill and let them rest for about 5 minutes to retain their juices.

Garnish and Enjoy: Sprinkle fresh chopped parsley over the drumsticks and serve them hot with your favorite sides, such as coleslaw or corn on the cob.
