Ingredients

3 ripe bananas, mashed

1/3 cup melted butter

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg, beaten

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon baking soda

Pinch of salt

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.

In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter with the mashed bananas and mix well until smooth.

Stir in the brown sugar and granulated sugar until fully incorporated.

Add the beaten egg and vanilla extract, mixing until just combined.

Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the banana mixture, then gently stir in the flour until no dry flour remains. Be careful not to over-mix; a few lumps are okay.

If using, fold in the chopped nuts and chocolate chips for added texture and flavor.

Pour the banana bread batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.

Bake in the preheated oven for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer the bread to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
