Ingredients

1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs

1/2 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for cooking)

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken: In a mixing bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Whisk until well combined. Reserve 1/4 cup of the marinade for later. Add the chicken thighs to the rest of the marinade and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator for deeper flavor).

Cook the Chicken: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and shake off excess. Place the chicken in the hot skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).

Glaze the Chicken: Pour the reserved marinade into the skillet once the chicken is cooked. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes, turning the chicken to coat it in the sticky glaze, until the sauce thickens slightly.

Serve: Transfer the chicken to a serving plate, drizzle the sauce from the skillet over the top, and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve with steamed rice and vegetables for a complete meal.
