Ingredients

For the Cake:

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 cups granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup unsalted butter

1 cup boiling water

1/2 cup buttermilk

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

For the Frosting:

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/3 cup milk

3 3/4 cups powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 12-cup bundt cake pan.

Mix dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Prepare the wet mixture: In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in boiling water and mix until combined.

Combine wet and dry: Carefully add the hot butter mixture to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined. Then, add in the buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes until smooth.

Pour into pan: Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan. Tap the pan gently on the countertop to remove any air bubbles.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool: Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Prepare the frosting: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the cocoa powder and then slowly add the milk, mixing until smooth. Remove from heat and gradually whisk in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until thick and creamy.

Frost the cake: Once the cake has cooled completely, pour the frosting over the top, allowing it to drizzle down the sides. If desired, sprinkle with chopped pecans.

Serve: Slice and enjoy your delicious Texas Sheet Cake Bundt Cake!
