1 pound ground beef (80/20)

1/3 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 large egg

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)

1 cup sliced mushrooms

2 cups beef broth

1 tablespoon soy sauce

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons heavy cream (optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

    Form the mixture into 4 oval patties, about 1/2 inch thick. Press in the center lightly to prevent puffing during cooking.

      Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

        In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened.

          Stir in the flour and cook for another minute to form a roux. Gradually whisk in the beef broth and soy sauce, ensuring there are no lumps.

            Bring the mixture to a simmer, allowing it to thicken for about 5 minutes. If you prefer a creamier gravy, stir in the heavy cream at this stage.
