Ingredients

1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup packed light brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

4 large eggs

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).

In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix well.

Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing until fully incorporated after each addition.

Gradually stir in the flour and salt until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Gently fold in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts (if using).

Pour the batter into the unbaked pie crust, spreading it evenly.

Bake in the preheated oven for 55-60 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Once baked, remove from the oven and allow the pie to cool for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally topped with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
