Ingredients

1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup shredded provolone cheese

1/2 cup sliced pepperoni

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)

1/4 cup chopped bell peppers (optional)

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Marinara sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle about 12 inches wide and 14 inches long.

Layer the Fillings: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and provolone cheeses evenly over the dough, leaving about an inch of space around the edges. Evenly distribute the pepperoni slices on top of the cheeses. If you're using olives and bell peppers, add them now.

Season It: Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder over the toppings.

Roll the Stromboli: Starting from the long edge, carefully roll the dough tightly into a log shape. Pinch the seams and ends to seal them well to prevent the fillings from leaking out during baking.

Brush with Egg Wash: Place the rolled stromboli seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the top with the beaten egg to give it a beautiful golden color while baking.

Slice for Venting: Using a sharp knife, make a few diagonal slits on top of the stromboli to allow steam to escape.

Bake: Put the stromboli in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

Cool and Serve: Once baked, remove the stromboli from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes. Slice into individual pieces and serve warm with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
